My Maine Roadtrip!

  • Southwest Harbor, Maine, a working harbor

  • Southwest Harbor, Maine, also has a Coast Guard base

  • Beal's Oyster House, a local Southwest Harbor favorite, great food, great atmosphere

  • We decided to go for a drive and then hiked along Maine's seacoast

  • This is Pier One Vacation Rentals, Southwest Harbor, Maine, we didn't stay here, but looks to be a great place to stay.

  • Craggly rocks dotted Maine's seacoast

  • More rocks

  • and even more rocks

  • Here is a view from atop Cadillac Mountain

  • Bar Harbor, Maine in the distance

  • Lots of harbors and marinas

  • Bar Harbor, Maine, full of shops, restaurants, and people

  • North of Acadia National Park there are some interesting lighthouses

  • ...and treacherous coastline

  • Besides rocky shoreline, there are also pristine beaches, mostly for sitting, the water is cold

  • Maine's wild coastline

  • Did I mention that the coastline was spectacular in Maine!

  • If I was an artist I'm sure I could sit for hours here and sketch this scene

  • or maybe this one

  • OK this one for sure would become a painting

  • This is the bed and breakfast we stayed in, the Harbour Cottage Inn, very nice, comfortable with great breakfasts

  • The room had a living area, porch, bedroom and kitchen

  •

  • Oh and the breakfasts at the Harbour Cottage Inn, were very very good! The best in Southwest Harbor, Maine, for sure.
